Residual current devices (RCDs) – also known as safety switches – help protect against electric shock in the workplace.

An RCD can detect when electric current leaves a circuit (as it might do when someone is being electrocuted) and shut that circuit down within milliseconds, to protect against injury or death.

It critical to have RCDs installed in the appropriate places in your workplace, and to routinely test these safety switches to make sure they are operating as they should, to help provide a safe work environment for your staff and customers.

Depending on your type of business, and where you operate in Australia, you may be legally required to protect power circuits and electrical equipment with RCDs.

We will test your RCD’s to the latest relevant Australian standard AS/NZ 3760:2010 In service safety inspection and testing of electrical equipment, Appendix H, to help ensure your commercial buildings or data centres remain safe and meet compliance standards.
